Something to ponder while you wander
The labyrinth is a single walking path used across the centuries for prayer, thoughtful reflection, and meditation on sacred text to symbolize life's journey with God. The curved, narrow path symbolizing life's twists and turns brings peace through trust that the path – though not always direct – leads to the Divine, much like the journey of faith.
Unlike a maze with dead ends, a labyrinth is a tool for finding wisdom and peace instead of losing one’s way. There’s only one way in and one way out. As a guided wandering, there are three parts to the meditative walk:
- Releasing … letting go of distractions and anxieties while quieting one’s soul and calming, focusing one’s thoughts on the way in
- Receiving … pausing at center to receive clarity, insight, or a sense of direction or reassurance; this part gives purpose to the pondering and intentional wandering
- Returning … walking out while integrating that newfound wisdom and clarity on the return journey toward regular responsibilities

This new, one-of-a-kind design encourages Christ followers to ponder on three scriptures as one wanders along the path:
- Philippians 4:4–9 instructs the disciple to rejoice always in the Lord, to cast off anxiety, and think on things true, honorable, and just.
- Psalm 46 reminds that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble.
- Psalm 23 leads through green pastures beside still waters where our soul is restored.
All things good, beautiful, and true to ponder while you wander.
Our exclusive design incorporates colors to connect the wanderer to Creation:
- greens – plants, leaves, birds
- blues – water, sky, birds
- golds and oranges – flowers, sunsets, birds
- browns – fertile soil, more birds
- natural blacks – night/shade, and even more birds that do their own kind of wandering

P.S. And for an extra layer of design nerdiness...
This design is largely based on a floor inlaid labyrinth at Our Lady of Chartres Cathedral in Chartres, France (about 50 miles southwest of Paris) with some personal touches added for our merch design.
Laid originally around AD 1200, the floor is made of light-colored limestone and dark, midnight blue marble and covers a whopping 1385 square feet. Imagine that for scale…basically the downstairs footprint of a two-story four-bedroom house, possibly including the garage.
